    Original Holzschnitt, handkoloriert im Stil der Zeit. Gedruckt und verlegt bei Anton Koberger in Nuernberg in der beruehmten 'Schedelschen Weltchronik' im Dezember 1493. Praechtig handkolorierte Stadtansicht, rueckseitig ebenfalls illustriert mit kleineren handkolorierten Darstellungen von Heiligen im Holzschnitt. Deutsche Textausgabe. Diese Ansicht von Ulm ist eine der fruehesten erhaeltlichen authentischen Stadtansichten, gedruckt und verlegt kurz vor 1500. Dieser Holzschnitt wurde exakt im Dezember 1493 gedruckt und verlegt bei Anton Koberger in Nuernberg. Die Holzschnitte wurden ueberwiegend von Pleydenwurff geschnitten.
    Breitrandiges Exemplar, im tadellosen Erhaltungszustand.

A highly decorative woodcut map by famous mapmaker Sebastian Münster published in his Ptolemy edition 1552 in Basel at Heinrich Petri. The decorative woodcut bordures verso were probably cut by the famous 16th century woodcutter Hans Holbein. Nearly none of the captivating woodcut borders verso are repeating, they are mainly shaped by allegoric scenes, coat of arms or wonderful initials.

    Original copper engraving, hand colored in wash, published ca. 1579-80 in the town books 'Civitates Orbis Terrarum' by Braun and Hogenberg. The entire series of the 'Civitates Orbis Terrarum' comprised six volumes and was published and printed from 1572 towards 1619. Decorative panoramic city view across the river Isar towards Munich. A very pretty early general view of the capital and residence town Munich in Bavaria by Braun & Hogenberg published in volume I around 1579/80. The engraving was published in the plate comprising six Bavarian early city views.
    Right side cut slightly close into the engraved border line, two sides of the engraving remargined. Else in excellent condition.

    Copper, engraving decorative handcolored in wash and outline, published in the 'Theatrum Orbis Terrarum' by Abraham Ortelius. At the bottom the colored title cartouche. Decorative and fine map of the 'Palatinatus Bavariae' around 1584-1612. The maps shows upper Bavaria with the neighboring Bohemia woods, the 'Fichtelgebirge' and Nuernberg. In the south the course of the Danube. The cartographic source for this map received Ortelius from Erhard Reych. The cities and town on the map still shown as miniature views in form of silhuetes. This version with the cartouche at the bottom was published 1584 for the first time. Kupferstichkarte, in dekorativem Flaechenkolorit, erschienen im Theatrum Orbis Terrarum von A. Ortelius bei Juan Baptist Vrients. Im Unterrand mit ausgemalter Rollwerkskartusche. Dekorative und schoene Karte der Oberpfalz um 1584/1612.Zeigt die Oberpfalz mit angrenzendem Boehmerwald, Fichtelgebirge u. Nuernberg. Im Sueden noch mit dem Lauf der Donau. Ortelius uebernahm die Karte nach der Zeichnung von Erhard Reych. Die Orte noch in Silhouettenform als Miniaturansichten dargestellt. Tadelloses Exemplar. Erschien erstmals ab 1584 in dieser Variante mit der Titelkartusche im Unterrand.

    Nuernberg, Chr. Weigel. 1719-35 [28 x 34,9 cm]
    Copper-engraving, hand colored in outline when published. This antique map shows us the surrounding of the city of Augsburg towards the river Lech and Friedberg. With engraved military possessions of the French and Bavarian army. The map is richly detailed engraved with small rivers, woods and various small place names. The allegoric cartouche in the lower right corner with soldiers on horses. The cartographer Christoph Weigel worked around 1719 in Nuernberg and his maps are showing the typical style of this period in mapmaking in Southern German. He worked very close as with Johann B. Homann in Nuernberg. All his maps were hand colored in outline and decorative body color immediately in his printing house, after they were printed.

Das detailierte Kartenbild zeigt Waelder, Felder, Fluesse, Seen, Ortsangaben von kleinen Staedten und Orten, Burgen und vieles mehr. In der oberen linken Ecke finden wir dass bayerische Wappen gehalten von Putten und darunter die Titelkartusche (fruehe Ausgabe ohne das Privileg). In der rechten oberen Ecke eine grosse allegorische Darstellung darunter eine kleine Insetvignette mit einer Gesamtansicht der Stadt Mindelheim in Bayern. This antique map shows Mindelheim in Bavaria. Inside the map are many woods, fields, rivers, place names, etc. In the upper left corner we find the title cartouche allegoric and figurative ornated. Also in the upper right corner the map is ornated with allegoric figures and below we look at an inset, which shows a view of the town Mindelheim.

With many place names, mountains, rivers, etc. The map shows the southwest from Munich to the northeast neighbouring 'Bohemian Woods'. In the west we find Ingolstadt and in the east the map extends towards the 'Innviertel'. In the upper left corner we see the allegoric figurative title cartouche with the Bavarian coat of arms. In the upper right corner is a cartouche with a mileage scale and an explanation.
    A strong impression in excellent condition. Published plano without a centrefold.

A very detailed map with many place names. In the upper left corner we find a allegoric title cartouche. Also we find in the upper right corner a inset map, which shows the 'Innviertel'. In the lower right corner is a mileage scale with the Bavarian coat of arms.
    A very good impression in excellent condition. Published plano without a centrefold.

    le 20. de Avril 1809. Cetait le 20 d'Avril, que les Autrichiens, vaincus pur les armes victorieuses des Francois et Bavarois commeneaient la retraite ou plutot la fuit pur la ville de Landshut. Les vainqueers entraient a l 'aube du 21 avec les fuyans, une pluie des boulets tombe dans les rues couvertes des morts et des blesses Le brave General bararios Mr. de Zandt, a ete tue entre les ponts sur l 'Isere. Mais envain les Autrichiens s'opposent aux armes victorieuses des Allies, ils mettent le feu aux deux ponts; deja a 2 heures d'apres midi la ville est entierement reprise.

    Aquatint, original color. Decorative scene showing the resumption of the city of Landshut in Bavaria by the French troops. A highly dramatic scene showing the troops in front of a bridge and crossing the river Isar. On the other side of the river the 'Martinskirche' of Landshut with parts of the old city. Fine aquatint in original hand color by the famous German painter Johann Lorenz Rugendas from Augsburg. J.L. Rugendas made the drawings for his famous serious of the Napoleonic battles himself and the sketches were mostly drawn at the authentic locations. He used for his copper engravings the aquatint technique, which allowed only a very small edition of examples to print. It is said that the Napoleonic battle scenes by Rugendas only were published in a number of 150 copies.
    Minor mainly marginal spots, else in excellent condition.
