Copper engraving, uncolored as published. A interesting and detailed map, which shows us the 'Bering Street' between Asia and the Northwest Coast of America. Equipped in the upper right corner with a compass rose. The map provides many details and includes an engraved route of Capt. Cook's voyage in 1778 and 1779. A nice and interesting map for the collector of maps of the Northwest Coast of America and Alaska.

Along the coast are many small place names engraved, further details on bays, etc. In the upper right side is an inset map, which shows a map of the bay of Nootka.

Lithograph, original hand colored in outline. A very large and highly detailed antique map, which shows the Alaskan Archipelago in many details. The map shows Gulf Kanitch, Island Ounga, Island Oumanak, Island St. Paul and the Island St. George. Further routes of the late eighteenth century explorers Captain Bilings (1790-91) and Captain Sarytchew (1791) are shown on the map. The map was published in Phillippe Marie Vandermaelen's atlas of North America.

Copper engraving, hand colored in wash when published. This map of North America published by G. Tasso in Venice is based on Le Sage's and Buchon's earlier map of North America. The title cartouche also refers to the earlier explorations In North America by Lewis & Clark, Parry and Franklin. The impressive map shows North America from Greenland over the Hudson Bay towards Alaska in the very far Northwest. The Missouri and Oregon territories are nicely shown on the map. At the left side a small table with color explanations for the various possessions in North America. An interesting map for the collector of the history of the North America.

Fine designed and engraved small map by the London engraver Thomas Starling published in his 'Geographical Annual' 1833 showing a fair amount of place names, rivers and political borders of the different countries and territories.

Steel engraving, hand colored in outline when published. Decorative doublepage handcolored engraved map, showing North America around 1865. The map extends from the east with Greenland and reaches towards Russian America (Alaska) with the Bering Street. In the South with the gulf of Mexico and Central America. At the left side ornated with a small inset map, showing the the northwestern Fuchs Islands in the Bering Sea. The map provides additional information, especially in the West, many Indian territory names are given. Mountains and rivers are as well marked very well. Handcolored in outline, engraved by Wibel and C. Poppey jun. At the bottom we find explanations for English and Spanish names, as well there is table with the color keys for the various posessions. This map is the revised edition engraved by by Wibel and C. Poppey jun. and published 1865 in Weimar.

Fascinating map of North America, colored by Countries. Shows a newly annexed Alaska, massive British Northwest Territory and Hudson Bay Territory. Nebraska Territory extends to Canada. Montana Territory is named Shosone ou (or) Montana. Wyoming is named. The Gulf Stream is shown, along wit the tracts of Columbus' voyages in a large inset. Scarce interesting map of North America.

Lithograph, original color in outline and wash. Interesting map of North America around 1870, the political borders are hand colored in wash. It shows as well the new annexed state Alaska, provides information on Indian tribes, rivers, mountain heights. Equipped with two inset maps: One is showing the traces of the landing of Christopher Columbus in the West Indies, the other is a supplemental map on Mexico. Of further interest is the nicely engraved floating Gulf Stream in the Atlantic Ocean.

A nice and interesting map for the beginning collector of antique maps of the US.
In very good to excellent condition. A tiny old mended clear split at the lower centre, nearly not visible. Not affecting the image of the map.
