Amsterdam, J. Blaeu. 1662/66 [41 x 54,2 cm] Copper engraving, hand colored in outline and wash when published. California is shown as an Island on the map, further New Zealand and Australia are with engraved notes on discoveries. A very good to excellent preserved example of this rare map. Amsterdam, Ottens Renier & Josua 1745 [48,2 x 56,4 cm] Copper-engraving, decorative hand colored in outline and wash. A good example of this famous Dutch double hemisphere maritime world map, published first by Frederick de Wit in his sea atlas. This is the third state published 1745 by Renier & Josua Ottens. Further it has amendments with engraved routes of earlier explorations showing the travels of Tasman, Chevalier de Chaummont and the routes of Magellan and de le Maire. There are numerous additions of islands in the Pacific and Indian Ocean. The plate is in the eastern hemisphere in Southeast Asia partly worn and the printing in that region slightly blurred.
