    Original copper-engraving, hand colored in wash, published 1598 in volume V in the town book 'Civitates Orbis Terrarum' by Braun and Hogenberg. The entire series of the 'Civitates Orbis Terrarum' comprised six volumes and was published and printed from 1572 towards 1619. Decorative bird's eye views of the towns Ottense and Tondern. Ornated in the the upper right corner with coat of arms and descriptive text. Many details like fields, yards, houses, churches, etc. Further the bird's eye view of Ottense is equipped with the scene of an old historical battle. This view was published 1598 in volume V of Braun and Hogenberg's 'Civitates Orbis Terrarum'.

    Original copper-engraving, hand colored in wash, published 1598 in volume V in the town book 'Civitates Orbis Terrarum' by Braun and Hogenberg. The entire series of the 'Civitates Orbis Terrarum' comprised six volumes and was published and printed from 1572 towards 1619. A bird's eye view of the city of 'Colding' with its castle. In the foreground we look towards the town across the river. The prospect of Colding is equipped with many houses, the castle, gardens and the fields and trees in its nearby surrounding. The title is engraved in a bannerol with the coat of arms of the city. At the bottom is a large renaissance cartouche with an extensive table of explanation to the city of Kolding. This view was published 1598 in volume V of Braun and Hogenberg's 'Civitates Orbis Terrarum'.
    In excellent condition. One small mended tear near the lower centre fold.

The entire series of the 'Civitates Orbis Terrarum' comprised six volumes and was published and printed from 1572 towards 1619. Two panoramic city views on one double page. At the top we have a view across the river Eider towards Toningen in Friesland. The town is shown pretty detailed with its royal castle, the market place and the town houses. At the bottom we find a view of the city of Husum with sailing ships in the foreground. The town is shown with the royal castle, the church and its town houses. This view was published 1598 in volume V of Braun and Hogenberg's 'Civitates Orbis Terrarum'.
    In very good to excellent condition. A minor skillfully mending near the lower centre fold.

This decorative map shows us a panoramic view from the 'Sundt' towards the town Elsingor. Below is another panoramic view of the town Ripen with its neighboring royal castle. Both views are highly decorative ornated with ships in the foreground and the other one with a rural landscape in the foreground. This view was published 1598 in volume V of Braun and Hogenberg's 'Civitates Orbis Terrarum'.

    Copper engraving, handcolored in outline when published. This antique map shows prominently the island of Funen (Fionia) in Denmark in the 'Baltic Sea'. The town of Odense highlights in the centre of the island of Funen. Of course many small place names, villages and small islands are engraved. In the lower left corner we find the a figurative title cartouche and in the upper left corner the coat of arms of Fionia. The mileage scale is at the lower right side. Inside the map are many place names, rivers, woods, etc. engraved. A very fine example published in a French text edition of the 'Atlas Major', wide full margins and outstanding hand coloring.

The North Sea in the west and the Schagerack in the east. Further on the map is equipped with sailing ships in the sea. Inside the map are many place names, rivers, mountains, woods, etc. engraved. In the lower left corner we find an figurative title cartouche. Another coat of arms is in the upper left corner. A very nice mileage scale, ornated with Taos is in the lower right corner.

    Copper engraving, hand colored in outline. This antique map shows Denmark with the neighboring countries Sweden and Germany. The Baltic Sea with its Islands Fione, Zeelandt, Falster, Ruegen, etc. is nicely shown, further on the map is equipped with sailing boats and a compass rose in the ocean. Inside the map are many place names, rivers, mountains, woods, etc. engraved. In the upper right corner we find an figurative title cartouche with Danish coat of arms. Another coat of arms we find in the upper left corner. A very nice figurative cartouche is in the lower right corner with a dedication to Gerardus Schaep by Ioannes Jansonnius. This map is according to Koeman variant B with borderlines and names of dioceses of Jutland added.
    In very good condition. The centre fold has a light glue-staining and at the top and bottom, outside the engraved image, a minor skillfully mending. Koeman I, 1500:1C

The chart is pretty accurately executed, many islands are named, villages and towns along the coasts, sandbanks and anchor-places are marked with water depths. In the Baltic sea the maps extends towards the island of Meun and the village Barts near Rostock. The map is ornated in the lower right corner with a large title-cartouche, two compass-roses and three ships.

    Engraved map, contemporary handcolored in outline and wash when published. The map shows decorative the kingdom of Denmark with its neighbouring countries around 1690-1704. Copenhagen is shown in the centre of the map, as well the map shows the southern tip of Sweden, which belonged in that period to Denmark. In the upper right corner we find a decorative handcolored title cartouche and in the upper left corner the map is ornated with a cartouche containg a milage scale.
    In very good condition, oldcolored a few minor places of oxidation verso backed (as often found on maps by Schenk & Valk) with thin Japan paper. The lower centre fold with a skillfully mending. Still in very good condition.

Huebner. In the upper right corner the map is ornated with a decorative allegoric title-cartouche, showing the Danish crown and the royal coat of arms.

George' in the foreground. Both scenes richly ornated with decorative ships and coat of arms.
    With a skillful restauration, a mending redrawn in ink, just above 'Christians Hafen' in the green fields. Else in very good to excellent condition.
