Venice, Antonio Zatta. 1778 [32 x 42,8 cm] Copper engraving, in contemporary original color in outline. This antique map shows Pennsylvania in its centre. Lake Huron is shown in the northwest. Ohio and Lake Oswego are the western boundaries of this map. In the east it extends towards Long Island and Massachusetts. The map is equipped with many place names, rivers, mountains, lakes, etc. Published in Zatta's "Atlante Novissimo" as sheet V in his twelve-sheet map of the United States, which is based on John Mitchell's map of North America. The Italian edition by A. Zatta is rich in details and provides additional annotations, which are not found in the English edition of the Mitchell map of North America. In excellent condition.
