    Original copper engraving, handcolored, when published in a German text edition of the "Theatrum Orbis Terrarum". Decorative handcolored in wash and outline in old colors. Fine and early historical map on Thracia. The area on this map covers mainly Thracia in Northern Greece and parts of Romania. The map is ornated with three cartouches, in the upper left corner the title cartouche, on the lower and upper right side we find text cartouches. Villages and towns are shown as miniature views. A very good example in excellent condition.

    Original copper engraving, published 1612 in the famous Vrients-edition of the "Theatrum Orbis Terrarum". Finely hand-colored in wash and outline. This map is ornated with a title cartouche on the lower left side, two further text cartouches in the upper right corner and on lower right side. Villages and towns are shown as miniature views. A very good example in excellent condition. Historical map of Dacia covering mainly the area of the Walachei, Bulgaria and Rumania. The map shows many historical city names, towns and small villages, mountains and the river system is well displayed.

Josef von Reilly published around 1789 in Vienna a large amount of very detailed district maps of Central Europe. These maps are famous for their large scales and the many details they provide. Even tiny place names can be found on those maps, rivers, mountains, streets, monasteries are as well engraved. The maps, which Franz J. Reilly engraved, were especially designed for the Austrian Royal house and show countries, provinces and districts belonging to the 'Austrian-Hungarian Empire'.
