This antique map shows Arkansas with his canals, streets and distances from the main points. The map is equipped with many streets, routes, rivers, lakes, place names, etc. In the upper side we find a mileage scale and steamship routes: Little Rock - Pittsburg, Little Rock - Fort Gibson & Little Rock - New Orleans. Texas Flemming, Carl Texas.
Glogau, C. Flemming 1860 [40,5 x 32,5 cm cm] Lithograph, hand colored in outline and printed partly in colors. Detailed map of the 'Republic of Texas', borders of the Republic hand colored in outline when published. The printing technique of this map is a fine lithograph, which was executed by the publisher and printer Carl Flemming in Glogau, Silesia. In this edition the water of the gulf of Mexico is already printed in colors, as well this edition of the map does not have the key, naming the counties, in the upper right corner of the map. The map is pretty high accurate and naming many cities and smaller places, as well rivers, mountains and Indian territories. In the lower left corner we find an inset map of Galveston Bay. Weimar, Geograph. Institut 1866 [55,8 x 63,2 cm] Steel engraving, hand colored in outline when published. This large and decorative map shows detailed Mexico and Central America. The map is equipped with many small place names, rivers, lakes, the gulf of Mexico and the Pacific coast. A interesting map for the Southwest US and the Southeast US with Florida. In the lower left corner we find two inset maps. One shows the railway project of Tehuantepec and the other a inset map of San Salvador and Honduras. Along the the countries of Central America (Mexico, Guatemala, S. Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica) tables with abbreviations of the names of mountains in these countries. At bottom of the map we find detailed explanations for the map and a mileage scale. This map is the revised edition engraved by Kratz published 1866 in Weimar. Still in very good condition. Two skillfully mended clear splits at the upper and lower centre fold. One small spot within the image, a small crease at the lower right corner. [Stock No.:19746] Full description |
