Date: 1720 Size: [50 x 57,5 cm] Technic: Copper engraving / Original color. Description: Original copper-engraving, hand colored in wash and outline, when published. Highly decorative map showing Carniola with the areas of Istria and a part of Dalmatia. Ornated in the upper right corner view a city view of Laibach and in the lower right corner with a large decorative allegoric cartouche and in the lower left corner a map-inset (lake of Czirkniz), with a description holded by four puttis. In the lower right corner we find a milage-scale. This is the 1st state of this map, without the engraved graduation lines and without the privilege in the center at the bottom. Notes: A strong impression of this map. There is a slight discoloration in the original handcolor and a mended tear at the lower center-fold (c. 12cm). However still in acceptable to good condition.
