Description: Handcolored lithograph, in wash and outline, when published. Compiled and drawn by F. Baur. Interesting fine lithograph map of the United States published around 1863. The map is showing detailed the borders of the various states of North America with the Indian territories and Western States. In the lower right corner we find a small inset map with the Western States. A highly interesting map of the US hand colored in wash when published. In the gulf of Mexico we find an explanation for the colors, listing the various groups states by colors. Texas is nicely shown on the map. Notes: In good condition. The map was originally published folded, so that the old fold are visible. Verso the left side and one fold, with minor smaller splits, strengthened with paper.
