The entire series of the 'Civitates Orbis Terrarum' comprised six volumes and was published and printed from 1572 towards 1619. Decorative panoramic city view of Bergen in Norway. This decorative view of the city of Bergen engraved after Hieronymus Scholeus is one of the earliest obtainable printed old city views of Bergen. It is ornated with a scene of sailing ships in the harbor. The city is very well shown with its wooden walls, the houses and the castle along the coast and the surrounding decorative landscape.
