Description: Original copper engraving, published 1598 in a French text edition of the 'Theatrum Orbis Terrarum'. Finely hand-colored in wash and outline. This very decorative map shows Marocco with the Atlantic and the Canary Islands. There are many place names, rivers and mountains inside the map. At the lower right corner is a wonderful title cartouche, figurative ornated. In the upper left corner we have an inset map of the 'Congo delta'. In the Atlantic Ocean are the Canary Islands with Tenerife and Lanzarote. Notes: In very good condition. Minor slightly marginal water stains. Condition: VG Reference: Price: /
