Published in a Dutch text edition of J. Jansson's historical Atlas. Highly decorative antique map of Asia published in Jansson's 'Atlas Antiquus'. This fine map is based on the geographic sources by Nicolaus Blancard from Leiden. Ornated in the upper right corner with a highly decorative title cartouche, holded by two angels, further on we find at the bottom a text cartouche with a dedication to Gerardus Schaep by Nicolaus Blancardus. Next to this cartouche the map is ornated with 12 antique Roman coins, attributed to verious Roman emporers. Notes: In excellent condition, a minor mending at the centre-fold.
