Description: Copper engraving, hand colored in outline when published. This antique historical map of Europe shows the imperium of Charlemagne. The map is very detailed engraved with many small place names, rivers, mountains, woods, etc. Political borders are colored in period outline colors. In the upper right corner we find a floral ornated title cartouche with a coat of arms. Further is a beautiful compass rose in the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea is ornated with several sailing ships. Notes: In very good to excellent condition.
