Description: Copper-engraving, hand colored in outline and wash when published. A decorative antique map which shows Holland with its 'Seven provinces', the Zuyder Sea and the neighbouring German Sea. A highly decorative map with a large allegoric title cartouche ornated with a map of the Northeast coast of America (the Dutch province 'New Netherlands' and a inset map of Southeast Asia 'India Orientalis Batavorum Commerciis, Potentia & colonnis celeberrima' with a view of the Dutch colony Jakarta (Batavia). Further on the map is equipped with many place names, rivers, streets, mountains, etc. In the right lower corner is a milage scale and a small inset map. Notes: In good condition.
