Description: Copper engraving, hand colored in outline when published in Blaeu's Atlas. This antique map shows a part of the duchy of Brabant in the Netherlands with Antwerp, Loewen towards Breda. The map is equipped with many coat of arms. Also the figurative title cartouche with five coat of arms at the lower centre fold. In the lower left corner we see the mileage scale ornated with cartographers. Many mountains, rivers, woods, streets, etc. are engraved inside the map. The map is orientated with the north to the right. This map by Guijelmus & Joan. Blaeu is based on the cartographic sources by Michael Florent from Langren. A very fine example published in a French text edition of the 'Atlas Major', wide full margins and outstanding hand coloring.

Notes: In very good to excellent condition. A minor old mended split (nearly not visibly) in the blank margin of at the lower strengthened centre fold.
