The entire series of the 'Civitates Orbis Terrarum' comprised six volumes and was published and printed from 1572 towards 1619. The town books by Braun & Hogenberg are probably the most important series of early city views ever published. A famous plate from the Spanish plates of Braun & Hogenberg's 'Civitates Orbis Terrarum'. The engraving of Conil shows fishermen in the foreground doing their daily work - the view of Jerez de la Frontera with rural inhabitants in the foreground.
