The map provides mainly information on the river system, the mountains and names of Indian tribes and Indian territories. At the bottom near the title we find a table of explanations listing various marks for cities, Indian villages, forts, waterfalls, houses, mountains, etc. In the upper right corner is a table of explanations for the various colors showing the individual states.
