Finely hand-colored in wash and outline. Detailled map of the 'Illyricum' based on the cartographic sources by Johann Sambucus (1572) and A. hirschvogel (1565). The map shows the area from the neighboring Carintia over Istria and Croatia towards the Windisch Mark and the neighboring Bosnia. The map is ornated with a small title cartouche on the lower right side and a text cartouche below. Villages and towns are shown as miniature views.
