Decorative equipped panoramic city of Taragona in Catalonia. Shown is the city of Taragona with its walls and the river Francoli in the foreground. Further this panoramic sketch is decorated with a sea battle in the Mediterranean Sea and firing canons at Fort Fanal. This fine engraving was published in Gabriel Bodenehr's famous serious "Europeans Macht und Pracht", a series of engravings depicting city views, plans, fortresses and castles in Europe. Many plates often are showing fortifications in Hungary and Southeast Europe, Spain, Belgium, Austria and Germany. Gabriel Bodenehr was during this period a successful publisher for maps and prints in Augsburg in Southern Germany. Notes: The engraving was originally published folded, so that the old folds are still slightly visible. A skillful carefully done restoration along the old fold of the plate. In very good condition.
