Copper engraving, hand colored in outline and wash when published. Finely hand colored copper engraving, published in a Latin text edition of published in the townbook ,Civitates Orbis Terrarum' by Georg Braun and Franz Hogenberg. The entire series of the ,Civitates Orbis Terrarum' comprised six volumes and was published and printed from 1572 towards 1619. This fine engraved plan of St. Omer is published about 1598 in volume IV of the famous townbooks by Braun & Hogenberg. Ornated in the lower left corner with a title cartouche and in the right corner a table with explanations with a listing of buildings and important places in St. Omer.S. Audomari Fanum. S.
